Whilst we have all had adventures on the Last Train to Scarborough, few will have ended with abduction on the high seas and murder!
Andrew Martin is a York educated journalist and novelist. After qualifying as a barrister, he won The Spectator Young Writer of the Year Award for 1988, which deflected him into a writing career.
His critically praised ‘Jim Stringer’ series began with The Necropolis Railway in 2002.
The following, Murder at Deviation Junction and Death on a Branch Line, were shortlisted for the CWA Ellis Peters Historical Crime Award.
The Somme Stations won the 2011 CWA Ellis Peters Historical Crime Award.
