Cold fish soup – Adam Farrer

Cold Fish Soup is a collection of essays reflecting upon life on
the Yorkshire coast and in particular Adam’s hometown of Withernsea.

The book takes a wry and moving look at family, life, death, interdimensional werewolves, sea swimming, burlesque dancing pensioners and problematic compulsions, leading readers to describe him as “a Yorkshire David Sedaris”.

Adam will read from Cold Fish Soup, detail the writing of it and discuss the inspiration he found in the Yorkshire coast and its people.

Adam is an award-winning writer, a teacher of creative nonfiction and editor. Cold Fish Soup won the NorthBound Book Award in 2021.

He edits the creative journal The Real Story and lectures in creative writing.

He has performed at numerous literary festivals, including the Edinburgh International Book Festival, Manchester Literature Festival and the Northern Lights Writers Conference.
